Board of DirectorsNellie Adams, public school teacher and past Executive Director of Fairfax County Employees’ Child Care Center in Virginia, has been a practitioner and consumer in early care and education and a validator for the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation Program. Nellie has also served as the Treasurer and a board member of the Northern Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children.
Dr. Sandra Burud, past President of the Alliance of Work/Life Professionals, is a visiting research scholar at Claremont Graduate School and co-author of Leveraging the New Human Capital: Adaptive Strategies, Results Achieved and Stories of Transformation, an award winning book on Human Resource Development.
Dr. Mary Ellen Dallman, associate professor of Early Childhood Education in the Georgia State University system, serves on the board of Forever Friends, an intergenerational educational initiative in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has served as a board member of the Georgia Association for the Education of Young Children and is an active trainer in the region.
Sandra Enser, Project Manager at Northrop Grumman, holds an MBA from George Mason University. Sandra served as a family home child care provider when her own children were young and is an active volunteer with service organizations.
Dr. Betty Liebovich coordinates Early Years Education and teaches at the University of London – Goldsmiths College. Her research focus is on contemporary issues affecting teaching in early care and education. She has served as an NAEYC Validator.
Dr. Maureen McLaughlin is a Registered Nurse with a doctorate in community health. Maureen was the founding director of the Prince William Hospital child care program in Manassas, Virginia. She has been active with the national Healthy Child Care America training group and served as an NAEYC validator.
Dr. Pat Phipps, former Executive Director of Northern California Association for the Education of Young Children, previously served on the faculty at George Mason University.
Catherine Roggow has over twenty years of experience in advertising and strategic planning, working for Leo Burnett and Jack Levy Associates. A lifelong Chicago resident, Catherine is active in various non-profit entities and a parent using the services of live-in child care.
Stefan Skirtz, former Executive Director of the American Classical Music Hall of Fame, studied at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and completed a professional production internship at The Juilliard School of Music. His many production projects include exhibitions for Museo de los Niños, a children’s museum in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
